Tim Herndon, CEO

Tim Herndon is a 28-year veteran in the insurance and financial services industry.  He’s worked as an insurance company employee, a captive agent, an independent broker/adviser working for a general agency, and most currently, a self-employed principal adviser.  In 2008, Tim started Benefits Blueprint.  Benefits Blueprint is an insurance, employee benefit and financial services agency with a focus on the needs of customers.  Benefits Blueprint provides group, voluntary, and individual insurance.  Tim’s advanced knowledge, understanding, and experience can be an asset to any public or private entity, as well as any closely held family business.

Education
 

  • Fall 1987 – Graduated with a BS from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky

  • Spring 1990 – Completed the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF)  destination sponsored by the National Association of Life Underwrites (NALU)

  • Fall 1994 – Completed Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation by the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

  • Spring 1995 – Completed Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation by the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

  • Winter 1997 – Completed the Westfield Insurance Companies Agency Development School in Westfield Center, Ohio

  • Summer 2011 – Completed the Prudential Financial Planning School in Newark, New Jersey

  • Winter 1988 – Received Tennessee life & health insurance license

  • Winter 1988 – Became sales agent for American General Life & Accident in Murray, Kentucky

  • Summer 1990 – Became the senior territorial marketing manager for Westfield Life Insurance Company in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia

  • Spring 1997 – Became sales agent for Ritter Insurance in Brentwood, Tennessee

  • Winter 1999 – Became sales agent for Gale Smith & Company in Brentwood, Tennessee

  • Winter 2008 / Present – Started self-employment d/b/a Benefits Blueprint in Nashville, TN

  • Winter 2008 / Present – Instructor for life / health insurance classes at Kaplan Financial in TN


Family

Tim and his wife, Angie, are active in church and charitable organizations.  They enjoy spending time with their two children and their activities.
